2021 has a brilliant yellow color with green highlights. The entry is round while the midpalate reveals a backbone of acidity and minerality, with citrus peel, green apple, honeysuckle and river stones. The wine is richly textured with a long, balanced finish. The round texture given the wine by the low yielding CH548 clone makes this a good match for shellfish dishes with drawn butter or sauces, and seafood pastas, poached or sautéed seafood, gumbos, paella, steamed vegetables with lemon and herbs, and roast lemon chicken. Experimentation is welcome!

Aromas of orange blossom flowers and orange zest are powerful, filling the air while notes of peach melba and coconut sugar drift lazily from the glass. The Avni's crisp lime twist in a glass of tonic water on the rocks flavor is joined by a touch of lemon sorbet and earthy oregano. Juicy acidity with a supple texture.

Pouring a brilliant straw hue, the 2021 Chardonnay Avni is elegant and focused, with notes of lemon balm, white flowers, fresh rain on pavement, and green apple skin. Focused, pure, and medium-bodied, with a chalky texture, it's balanced and driven with fantastic energy without feeling austere and has a lovely flourish of fresh chive and spice on the finish. Drink it over the next 5-6 years.

Lithe and snappy, with appealing apple and lemon flavors highlighted by apricot blossom and orange peel elements. Drink now.

The 2021 Chardonnay AVNI is a total pleasure on the nose. Perfumed, it blends crushed stone mineral tones with crisp green apples and suggestions of fresh mint. This flows across the palate with silky textures and medium-bodied weight traversing both savory and sweet, with a saline tinge developing toward the close. It finishes with a lingering sour lime twang, potent with a cheek-puckering sensation.
